Wool Care Instructions
How to wash and lanolize your wool and cashmere products

Wool is surprisingly easy to care for!

Your wool diaper covers, shorties, and longies do not need to be washed as frequently as other covers, as the lanolin in wool neutralizes urine. Between washes, hang your cover to dry. You'll know it's time for a wash if the cover is stinky when it's completely dry.

An important step in the proper care of your wool covers is lanolizing before the first use and every month or so thereafter. Using a wool wash that contains lanolin will help extend the time between re-lanolizing.

To lanolize your wool covers and clothing:
  1. Fill a sink with lukewarm water
  2. Add a pea-sized amount of lanolin to a separate cup of very hot water and stir to dissolve (use more lanolin and hot water for more than 2-3 articles)
  3. Once well-dissolved, add to lukewarm water and mix well
  4. Add your wool, making sure each article is fully soaked with lanolin mixture
  5. Let soak for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight
  6. For brand-new covers, repeat above steps 4 more times
  7. To dry, lay covers in a towel and roll tightly to squeeze out excess water
  8. Hang or lay flat to dry
